Final Thoughts on Fluttershocked. · 3:05pm Apr 21st, 2012

It's been a great time. I'm glad I was able to take this journey with all of you. Fluttershocked was my first fanfic. I started writing many in the 90's during my anime fandom, but none on this scope or size, and I never finished any. It was the brony community that helped me make it, due to their positive attitude and encouragement.

And I'm just as stunned as you all are. I had no idea what was going to happen as I was writing this. It just sort of happened. The stories just come to me in my sleep, and I make a note to jot them down in googledocs before I leave for work. Then I use the snowflake method to flesh them out. The twists here were just as surprising to me as they were for others.

The original stinger for Fluttershocked was going to be that Fluttershy was taking turns doing her buckbuddy in every room of her house. The thing with Rainbow Dash's dad came completely out of nowhere. I laughed just as hard as some of you.

But where to take it from there? From that point on, the story was completely driven by the commenters. I wanted to answer all their questions and give them more of what they loved. I decided the penultimate direction for the series could be Fluttershy catching the bouquet at the upcoming royal wedding, and Rainbow Dash being certain that meant she would be marrying her Dad. But how to get there?

The next next story I wrote was "The Mounting of Rainbow Dash", which could have stood on it's own, but it was too short for the limitation of fimfiction.net. I wanted that story to remain pure and in the wordcount it was intended. Brevity is the source of wit. I incorporated it into the story and used it as stepping stone to get us to the wedding, and to add some naughty hijinks.

Since we were in an adult world of pony anyway, the most fun thing would be to focus on the Bachelorette party. We wouldn't be seeing that on the show, so this would give us bronies a chance to revel in the fun of it.

Again, I'd like to thank Invizibilit3, my proofreader. None of this would have been possible without his help.

Fluttershocked was definatly a masterpiece. Followed it from the first chapter written. I could definatly tell you were awesome at comedy, and each new chapter you wrote only proved that. The effect did start to fade close to the last several chapters, but you managed to end it on a pretty awesome spot. Grats on your first successful series, and hope you can come up with more written gold.
Only thing that keeps bugging me is that one anticlimactic part, but eh, can't please everyone.

PS: I'm still bad at monologues.

The entire story as a whole was magnificent to say the least, it was witty, amusing and shocking all rolled into each chapter, I was glad to read this from the beginning to end.

So, will there be a sequel?
