Announcing "Harmonic Spectrum." · 6:11am Apr 25th, 2012

I don't have a lot of followers on here, but I'm posting this anyway.

Yeah, that fic I mentioned on the last blog entry that I was gonna do? The one where Rainbow Dash transforms into Super Dash via all of the Elements of Harmony at once? Yeah, I finally have a plot idea for it and a title for it. As of the posting of this blog entry, both are final.

But before I go on, let me say this first. Rewatching the first two-parter of the show and after getting some disagreements from people, I have to say that, as far as canon goes, details and explanations on the workings of the Elements of Harmony are simply far too vague to get any depth out of them. And because of this vagueness, people can have several intepretations of how they work. They have their own "headcanon," in other words, and as long as they are far and varied, there is a strong chance that the fic I will be doing will alienate someone's headcanon and conflict with it.

So, unless someone from the show's production team officially gives an in-depth explanation of how the EoH work, what you'll see in the following plot synopsis may conflict with your headcanon of how the EoH work, and as such, I suggest that you respect how I think they work or avoid reading it altogether. Having petty drama over who is right or wrong on this is the LAST thing I want, really. So yeah, don't bother. =/

Without further ado, here is what I have planned out for the fic. From DA:

"Harmonic Spectrum," or "HARMON!C 5PECTRUM" if I choose to write it like "5OUL ON D!SPLAY," will be a MLP:FiM-only fic specifically written to meet Equestria Daily's quality standards. That means, if you are that illiterate like a certain deviant I know (don't ask), that this will not be a crossover with Sonic or Klonoa, and will not be a part of the "Super Klonoa Unleashed" universe of fics. The fic will mainly be about Rainbow Dash using all of the Elements of Harmony at once to transform into Super Rainbow Dash, via their hidden potential that requires to be unlocked by not only the five qualities that she needs to exhibit in the past, but also a very strong will that she easily possesses, and also by a desperate situation where harmony is on the absolute brink of collapse. Those, and the Spark of Friendship as well.

Through slice-of-life segments, each chapter will focus on the quality that Dash needs to exhibit, with Loyalty, her own Element, being the first. In the sixth chapter, (as voted in a poll, btw), the main antagonist, Discord, shows up and, realizing his previous mistakes before as he stands before the EoH once again, goes and actually corrupts Twilight Sparkle to his very best, taking advantage of her inner latent, but chaotic magical potential and setting a spark to her, transforming her into Burning Twilight Sparkle. With the wielder of the Element of Magic corrupted and rendering the rest of the EoH inoperable, Twilight then turns on her friends and attacks them with both magic and fire, acting all evil and badass and whatnot. After she overwhelms them, she surprisingly spares them, thinking they're too weak to battle her. She then teleports away and proceeds to light Ponyville and the surrounding landscape on fire.

Battered and broken, the ponies lay there in great despair and confusion, refusing to believe what had just happened. The Elements are now rendered useless without their leader, and so now they're rapidly losing hope and direction over what to do. But Rainbow Dash utterly, greatly refuses, saying that they can still do this. Though her body was badly damaged and burnt to death, she gets up, saying that she'll never give up no matter what happens. Then...

"If we don't stop her from destroying Ponyville...if I don't stop her...who WILL?!"

...suddenly, with that yell, she gets flashbacks from her past: of her being the one to give her friends their cutie marks, of them blasting both antagonists with their rainbow Harmony Blaster, and of them emitting a miniature Sonic Rainboom before blasting Discord the first time. She also gets flashbacks from the previous chapters of the fic, showing her exhibiting the quality of that Element. Then, suddenly, all of their necklaces glowed brightly, and they hear a group of mysterious voices from out of nowhere, saying:

"The Signs have been seen... The one with the strongest will and mind, and the one who has shown all that Harmony represents... Harmony has been compromised... And thus, after such a distant time, we have been fully awakened. Let us grant the power to the strong-willed one, and leave it upon her to restore Harmony throughout this land."

With that, the necklaces of Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, and Generosity then began to siphon their energy over to Dash's Loyalty necklace, with all of the ponies pondering what the heck is going on. Then, Dash suddenly remembers the book on the EoH that she was reading, that it described a similar incident that happened some millenia ago. She explains it to them, and after further realizing it, she then explained that the only thing they needed to complete all of this was to activate the "spark." The spark of friendship.

Cue a similar "we're always with you, Rainbow Dash!" scene as in my first Super Dash fic, and the fallen Crown of Magic is activated and then siphons its energy over to Dash's necklace. With all six energies in her necklace, they then spread all over her, transforming her in the process.

Super Rainbow Dash, the Flame of Harmony, is born. She then proceeds to head over to Ponyville and engages Burning Twilight into an epic battle of blazing proportions.

The final chapter after that will probably pit Super Dash against Discord in his true form or something. Either that, or with this ultimate potential of the EoH unlocked, she'll transform the rest of her friends as well, to reinforce the show's subtitle, "Friendship is Magic." I dunno yet. We'll see when I get there.
