Okay, I’ve been asked several times about the references I use from the canon shows and about the dates I’ve set up to take out the ‘abstract’ nature of time in Equestria. After receiving this inquiry from my editor as to inconsistencies between Squeak-Anon’s timeline descriptions from Traveler and references made without context from one chapter to the next. I thought that it was perhaps time to put down and revise my calender scheme based on the relevant canon and chronology that ‘I’ see the episodes being in given references to seasons as such. Now this requires 2 important points to be brought up.

Firstly, in regard to MLP Canon - to quote the Doctor:

That is to say, in my opinion, the series of events seen in MLP did not happen in the order they were presented to the audience. Think about it, it is the middle of Summer one day, Winter Wrap Up LITERALLY the next…

Anyways, the timeline presented here is merely MY thoughts on the order that things happen in for reference to the story and each other.

In regards to Dr. Who Canon - Pretty much everything that has happened in the shows I have seen (All of Nu-Who up to the end of Series Six and a growing amount of classic Who) is considered to have happened for the Doctor. I am not including comic/novel/ect from the Dr. Who canon simply because I have very little exposure to it (I still have never read a Doctor Who novel and don’t intend to for fear of being influenced). I do appreciate being informed if I happen to tread on something approaching familiar territory (As was done in the comments of Game of Stones) since it allows me to do some spot research and use it to improve the story.

Alright, so first, my notes and setup for the Equestrian Calendar.

Although months from the ‘Gregorian Calendar’ have been noted in the source materials, I always found that strange since the names used have very human origins and such... And time keeping modifications based on astrological phenomenon would be non-existent in a reality where Alicorn Princesses raise the sun and the moon. So have decided to set up my own less ‘complicated’ calendar to keep track of the Dr. Whooves series stories.

Equestrian Calendar: The Equestrian Calendar is divided into four exact Quarters/Seasons: (Spring, Summer, Harvest, Winter) which each have exactly 90 days.

Roll of Years: The years of Equestria are maintained by scholars using the ‘Reign’ method, measuring several centuries or even millennium by the rule of their Alicorn Leaders, with the numeral measuring the time since the coronation of each Alicorn. The Modern Era is considered by most scholars to be the entirety of Celestia’s Reign (C.R.), which recently entered its one thousandth and first year, although there is now speculation about how the return of Princess Luna will play into today’s politics.
Following (and sometimes during) their reigns, most rulers legacies are remembered in Eras by the Modern Pony, such as the Reign-issance (Astrolia’s Reign) or the Age of Harmony (Celestia’s Reign)

26 D.D.R.: Historically recognized beginning of the Hierarchy Rebellion with the cessation of six unicorn noble houses across the Dame of the Morning’s territory. Although heavily argued against, the new alicorn ruler allows the cessation to prevent open conflict. Subjugation of non-unicorns by the Hierarchy not discovered until many years after this event.

134 D.D.R.: Dame Dawn and her captain of the guard, Sir Justice, both stricken with a potent love poison. While the two are unable to pull themselves away from one another, the Arcane Hierarchy launches surprise strikes and captures multiple cities. Once cured, the plight of pegasi and earth ponies under the Hierarchy's rule becomes known, causing Sir Justice to form the Order of Justice to oppose the Hierarchy.

312 D.D.R.: The Hierarchy Rebellion finally comes to a formal end after over a century and a half of brutal struggle. The methods used to finally quash the rebellion remains debated in terms of ethicality and residual resentment between the races following this dark time remains to this day.

500 C.R. 50th Pegalympics of Cloudsdale. Celebrated every Ten Years. Notable in particular for a scandal where rival athletes cruelly targeted the now legendary 'Thunder Streak' a mare whose mixed heritage and use of earth pony training, tactics, principles, and coaching caused dissension among her fellow competitors. Although hobbled by an insidious drug, Thunder Streak still managed to win several races to be awarded the golden laurels and breaking multiple records. These victories forced many pegasi to reconsider their dominance as Equestria's top athletes and led to the eventual formation of the Triathlon of Manehatten (which replaced the Pegalympics) in which all pony races can compete. Unknown to history books, Thunder Streak was drugged and incapacitated during her most famous race, in which a similarly-built pegasus wearing her mane color and flight suit took to the field in her place. While the unknown contender won, a public discovery invoked investigation of the scandal, disqualifying multiple racers for cheating, striking them from the records, and running the race a second time, in which the true Thunder Streak did indeed prove victorious. The mare who flew in Thunder Streak's place during this 'forgotten' race has never been identified.
