Covers! Art! Oh dear Celestia I need help. · 3:59am Apr 18th, 2012
HAI AUTHORS! Ahem... So! I might as well make a blog entry here about what I've been up to lately. Mainly a lot of art for the lovely authors from the Art for Fanfiction group (and a few that are not!). Now here's the asparagus and thick pea soup (I just love that stuff) of the post. Art!
First cover art for Your Best Shot.
Second for Machine and Might.
A big bright one for A Nightly Romance.
A discarded concept for a particular fic. It's related to ponies, I swear!
One for A Change of Face, though I don't think the author had the time to put it up yet.
Aaand the one I'm currently working on for Voce di Bellezza.
And I have about two or three unreleased ones due to their authors that haven't published their works yet. That should be an adequate first post. Yep, yep!
♪ ~ One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn't belong... ~♪
BEAUTIFUL!
I could use illustrations like yours!
What does it take to cut a deal?
I guess I'll have to get more my work out before requesting stuff from a big shot like you.
I do appreciate your work. keep it up!
I'm also going to check your stories.

Hey there, glad you liked it!
As for your question, theoretically I would like to evaluate simply based on whether it's a good story (subjective, I know).
But apart from that, I do have preferences as to the types of stories I do art for though. Mainly the comedic, crazy, and utterly random stories goes at the top. If your writing can make me laugh, I'm definitely taking yours in. The rest of my preferences goes in this order:
Adventure > Slice of Life > Alternate Universe > Dark > Romance > Crossover > Human > Sad > Tragedy
Yeah, if the fiction is intended to make me cry and generally feel bad, I would be... hesitant to pick it up to say at the least.
Oh, and if your story has any of these ponies as a main characters, I would be much more likely to take the request.
Twilight Sparkle
Princess Celestia / Princess Luna
Rarity
Pinkie Pie
Applebloom / Sweetie Belle / Scootaloo
So yeah, that is my particularly biased rubric of evaluation. But generally I'll take any story in as long as it's interesting, so feel free to toss your story at me and see what comes out of it.

I only have one story. but it's a good one. I'm putting a lot of work and time into it. I also have good friends who do quality control.
it's Action/Adventure and focuses on the Mythopoeia surrounding the mlp universe.
I don't have much up. but what I do have is a strong opening to a very serious project.
I'm not looking for cover art as much as as chapter art. (not that would request any from you now)

I also hate sad endings. I don't know they're so popular. Probably the concept of "catharsis",but who knows.
I don't think I'm witty enough to make good humor, but I love fantasy, fighting and philosophy.
I really want to create a positive yet mature adventure that can teach something,or at least try.

Alright, I'll take a read-through of it. Though I don't quite understand why do you need a cover art for every chapter. I mean I know that Conner Cogwork does that for his story, but his is substantially larger for each chapter. But throw a request at me, as long as it's interesting enough, I'll take it.
Oh, just as a fair warning. I generally tend to limit myself to one piece of art to each author to give everyone a fair chance, so make sure that this is the story that you want drawn.
(Huh, now that I think of it, aren't you the author that Frees did that very nice cover are for as well?)

Catharsis is probably the reason, since that is the point of Hurt/Comfort fics. Each to their own I say, since I generally get my catharsis from happy and funny fics. Don't sell yourself short. Being funny might be tricky, but I'm sure that everyone has the potential to brandish a rapier wit, and that would take practice by writing (well, that is if you want to ). Aaand I feel that there is simply not enough comedy pieces out there.

Words of strength and wisdom, my friend. Thank you for taking the time to speak to me.
