How does one acquire pre-readers? · 8:21pm Oct 24th, 2013
It's kind of frustrating to want feedback on your pieces but not have people that are free or interested enough to agree to edit/review them before just throwing them out and having to fix things on the fly. I could iron out technical errors myself with another read or two, probably, but I can't judge for myself whether or not a story or chapter or whatever is actually any good. Of course I like them or I wouldn't even want to post them, but I have no idea if anyone else will.
I'd just ask a few of your followers or something to find some. I'd offer, but be aware my grammer and punctuation are not great so Id be a terrible editor.

Technical errors I can deal with easily enough on my own, if I take my time (which I really need to do more often), what I'm looking for is more like a focus group. That sound like something you'd be interested in?

Sure, I can give it a shot.
Just tossing this out there: I have the same problem. I'd gladly preread your works, and, if you want, you can take a look at mine.
(though I might not have time for much until after NaNoWriMo, but if they're short enough, I can take a stab anyway)

I've actually been a pre-reader/editor quite a few times before, so if you want to throw something my way I'd be happy to look at it. And thanks for the offer. Is there a genre or rating you'd prefer not to read?

I'm good with most everything, but I'm not a fan of gore or grimdark stories. Just a personal preference.
The story I'm working on right now (or rather would be if I wasn't elbow-deep in NaNoWriMo) is a revision of this. If it looks like something you like, I'll send you the links to the unpublished revised versions of the chapters.

Well it looks good to me. I could read over the revisions, if you need. Otherwise, I have an idea or two I could use some back-and-forth on that I may start working on pretty soon, all relatively gore-free. Should I PM you about them?
1492624 absolutely! I'll send you the links, and let me know what you're working on.
