What about a Being that only exists in dreams, existing in constant fear for Luna an her wrath against all things she sees as nightmares and its eternal wish to be freed or at least peace or even understanding.
If you think about such beings existing than Luna exercises every night genocide... without knowing it, while believing to rid her Ponies of Nightmares but in truth there are simply far to easily scared and panic by everything that tries to communicate with them in there dreams and for the fact that they don't know that 'thing'/'awful distorted image of an Pony' they Sissy out and call for there substitute mother, named Luna...
