Reflecting on an Old Blog Post... · 10:46am Sep 29th, 2013

The Old Blog Post

Wow. I just finished re-reading this post and I was amazed that I actually did that in the first place. Losing my near-3000 total story views and accumulative 100,000 words was a hard thing to swallow. Now, however, I've gained many new accomplishments from what I thought was going to be a huge mistake.

List of Good Things

- Gaining a stronger bond with some of my readers -- Y'all know who you are. I'm very appreciative of the support and wouldn't have any other way.
- Becoming a better writer -- When I deleted those stories, I forced myself to research better writing etiquette and strategies. Turned out for the better, eh?
- Discovering more things about my close friends -- Before I deleted those stories, I had alerted my friends to the event. They all said I should try something else, but they were okay with it when I did it anyways. From that, I grew a better bond with quite a few of them. Just to name a couple out of all the good friends I've gained from this fandom: Dancing Dead (My LBBFF [Little Bro Best Friend Forever]; He's part of the reason I write and try to be a good role model for), Biker_Dash (Better known as Pops to me and the few that notice the connection; My writing mentor and an very-influential figure in my life, even if we have small fits from time to time), Pony-Kim (Basically my mother at times [hehe]; Another part of why I write; A very good friend to talk to when the shitstorm rolls over my part of town), Drakvan (The best uncle you could ask for [seriously!]; He's always making me laugh or smile whenever he's around; A very good influence on me as a person), Yuki Harima (One of my go-to friends about stories [we have the same attitude about writing]; He's a great friend to have, especially after the first quells we had over stupid stuff; Glad to have a friend like him). I know there's others too, and you know who you are!
- Finally Being Able to Find My Pen Name! - Rifled Quill has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
- Laughing A Lot More - I'm generally a lot more happier now. I'm not sure if it was because of the past event, but I laugh so much more than I used to.

So yeah, lots of positives came from that. I'm super-happy that it turned out well. Thank you, family, friends and readers. You're all apart of who I am.

Stay gourd, my friends.
