Name that cartoon! · 1:20am Sep 27th, 2013
Picture a cartoon series. It's primarily designed to sell dolls to girls, but the series developer, a woman who previously worked on cartoon series more aimed at boys, decides to increase the appeal of the series, adding more action than was typically seen in girls' cartoons. And the cartoon features a lot of original music.
Sound familiar? Well, that's also a brief summary of the 80s cartoon Jem. And as near as I can tell, there's no MLP-Jem crossover here. (Probably because the series is older than a fair number of the people here.)
I vaguely remember Jem. (I was about 5 at the time, but I think my sister might have watched it).
As I recall, she was truly fantastic.
No need for a crossover: she's Canon.
Where else did the CMC get the ideas for their costumes in Season 1?
1378479 Definitely agree there. An obvious idea for a crossover would involve the Cutie Mark Crusaders working to help Jem and the Holograms, and Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon on the side of the Misfits.

Or Applebloom INVENTS the holograms
1378425 Truly outrageous, you mean.
The Jem theme, covered by the band Freezepop.
1378491 No way. That's where the song comes from?
1378573 You've heard the Freezepop version of the song before?
1378656Yes, as well as the original. I've never actually seen the show though.
