Happy Birthday, Chuck Jones! · 2:30pm Sep 21st, 2013

Today is the 101th birthday of the late but legendary animation genius, Chuck Jones (1912-2002). I feel I should pay tribute to one of my biggest influences.

For those of you who don't know about Chuck Jones' work, allow me to tell. Chuck Jones was an animator, cartoon artist, screenwriter, producer, and director of many animated cartoons. His best known work is when he worked on Looney Tunes, where he directed many cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and many others, as well as creating characters like Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, Marvin the Martian and Pepe Le Pew. He directed many of what most people consider to be the best Looney Tunes cartoons including What's Opera, Doc?, Duck Amuck, Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century, One Froggy Evening The Hunting Trilogy, and many more. His other work includes animation on Sleeping Beauty, Several Tom and Jerry shorts, and also being good friends with Dr. Seuss as he directed How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Horton Hears A Who!. Jones also claimed Aladdin as "The funniest feature ever made".

Happy 101th Birthday, Chuck.
