On the topic of images in LP:EO · 11:58pm Sep 14th, 2013
What do people think of them? The one I did in Learning to Climb took me about 3 hours to fully put together. I am not an artist so I had to find images for the cutie mark and put that together, then make the ponies in the pony creator, and then composite everything. Even finding good screenshots for backgrounds takes a lot of research. I like how it looks, but it is a bit of a time sink. So I guess the question is, are they adding to the story? If they aren't I might drop them because they take a lot of work.
I suspect it would go faster if I could actually draw. :P
I donno, I'm just looking to get a feel for what readers think.

I for one enjoy them.
They really help pull me in to the world of your story, which is great since it all kind of feels like a big roleplay with the in-character comments section.
Of course, I'll enjoy the story even if they're missing, so if it's too much fuss it's too much fuss.
What you need to find is an artist to partner with then. I like pictures in fics, but it is not worth delaying the chapters for.
I like it when people put images in fics. Same with music. Make the most use of the fact that you're publishing over the internet. Multimedia and all that.
Just make sure that:
1) you don't over-do it, and
2) the fic comes first. Don't compromise the main course for the side dishes.
Also, I threw you a Watch. You and your story look interesting.
Glad to see that people are enjoying them. I'm not sure where I would find artists willing to draw for me though. I can't afford to pay anyone so... I suspect for now I'll stick with muddling along myself.
It is amazing what a you can pull off with just the smudge tool in gimp. Just saying.
