Danny Lewin was possibly the first victim of the events of 9/11. A former Israeli commando, he tried to singlehandedly stop the hijacking of AA flight 11. As we know, he couldn't stop it. His throat was cut from behind as he grappled with a terrorist.

Ironically enough, it was the algorithms he helped create that allowed the internet to survive the flood of usage in the coming hours.
