I'm writing a new story.
It isn't an MLP fan fiction. This is actually a legitimate novel, and it's possible that I can get it published. It is a Western. Here's the prologue, so please tell me what you think:
I stood in the dusty street, feeling the sun beat down on me. My six shooters were in their holsters, on each side of me. I stood, muscles tense, ready to react with lightning speed when the need arose. In front of me was Sheriff Jeff Patterson and his posse of five others, each holding a rifle- most either a Henry repeater or .44 Winchester Carbine. The Sheriff took my measure with eyes like a rattlesnake, pointing his rifle directly at my heart. The others sat on their horses, shifting with anticipation of what was about to happen. My eyes never left the Sheriff- he’d make the first move, I was sure of it.
Suddenly, his finger tightened on the trigger, and there was an explosion as the bullet went spiraling directly at my chest. Leaning slightly towards the right, the bullet caught me in the shoulder, and I went flying back, landing on my rear. The others turned their guns towards me as the Sheriff levered his own rifle, loading another slug into the chamber. Leaping to my feet, my guns cleared leather in an instant, and the Sheriff’s face went from pure anger to utter desperation. For an instant, we stood, staring at each other, and then, in unison, our weapons spat fire. I was going to take down that Sheriff, regardless of whether his boys kill me or not. Seeing that both my shots had missed, I thumbed back the hammer on my right gun, took aim, and fired, right at Patterson.
i found it good. if this was to become a book i would like a copy of the finished deal and a autograph as well please.
