So yeah, I've got a bunch of ideas in my head about this, and I've been writing a bit of the script while at work (upped hours means I have a lot less time to write, unfortunately. All my fics updates are going to be slowed down.) Taking into consideration who will be available as voice actors, as well as who I may be able to get and what I can do myself, I've decided that the story will have five main characters as well as a few important supporting ones. If you wish to do a character, make a small recording of yourself saying something in his/her voice and send it to me at dopplerguy@hotmail.com. You can voice one main character and one support, or two support characters, righto?
First off, here's the little rough-draft of the introduction which definitely needs to be re-recorded. The video stuff is just a placebo, but I'm planning on keeping the music.
The Main
Prince Redstone - The heir to the throne of Mars, along with his sister. He's only eighteen years old, is by means NOT an alicorn, but still is a skilled warrior to a degree. His favorite weapon is his father's sword, which he plans to use to kill the leader of the Martian usupers (see below). However, while he is a decent fighter, a lot of times he drastically overestimates his own skill. He wishes to turn Mars into an even-more Spartan-like society when he takes the throne. Like all Martians, he is a meat eating pony, though the only physical differences between him and Equestrian ponies is his razor-sharp teeth and solid, black, pupiless eyes. Most Martians have red coats as well. He actually agrees somewhat with the invasion, but would rather conquer and then guide the Equestrians to be a better, industrial society than enslave them. Narrates the intro.

Princess Sky Seeker - The other heir to the throne to mars. She is much younger than her brother, being around the CMC's age. It is said that the two of them were meant to balance each other out, and her attitude shows it. She is much more idealistic than her brother, believing in the good in everyone, and wants to demilitarize Mars to a large extent.
Voiced By: Hopefully my lady friend.
Lyra - The somewhat insane Lyra we all know and love, though a version who is obsessed with aliens. If you're familiar with the War of the Worlds, she sort of takes the place of the astronomer at the beginning. However, she realizes that the plumes of gas coming from Mars' surface are actually cannon shots from Martian Hydrogen Cannons used to propel their cylinders (transports) across the void. She'll be going on an adventure with the rest of the five-man band to find a way to defeat the invaders using her two, martian companions.

Bon Bon - The straight mare to Lyra. She can be skeptical and annoyed by the teal pony at times, but truly cares about her in the end. She's probably the character with the most common sense out of the group.

Big Mac - The silent big brother of the group. He serves as the narrator in the story, describing their situations. One could compare him to the main character of the original War of the Worlds, a mostly silent protagonist. He empathizes with and protects the two young Martians, especially Sky Seeker. She reminds him of Apple Bloom in a way, who never was able to meet her own mother, and Redstone somewhat reminds him of himself. He rarely speaks, but when he does, it carries great meaning. A gentle giant in the truest form.

Support Characters
King Red Weed - The uncle of the two heirs who usurped the throne in order to launch a military invasion against Equestria. Responsible for the death of the two young Martians' mother. Their father died years before in an unrelated incident. Not exactly evil, but a definite biggot who views the Equestrians as little more then worthy of slaves. (Remind you guys of anyone :D? No I'm not talking about Sombra.)

Prince Shining Armor - Commander of a large counterattack sent from the Crystal Empire to help Equestria. Still feels insanely loyal to his home nation, and is willing to do ANYTHING to protect it, even if it means holding the two young Martians hostage. Something of a punch-clock.

Captain Black Harness - Of course he's going to be in this, but only to a limited regard. Equestria's version of Torchwood will be references in a subtle way.

The Doctor - Also who I wish to be in this. He'll wind up pretty injured during the story, but I plan on having him sending the main characters on a quest.

Derpy - The Doctor's faithful companion.
Voiced By: Hopefully I can get that awesome girl who voices her on most of those youtube vids.
That's all the chars I have planned to be in for now, but of course more will come up as I write the script. Some may even be taken out if I can't find decent uses for them. We'll see where it goes. For now, take a claim and rise to... the youtube equivalent of semi-fame? I dunno. :D

I offer you my good tidings. However, someone has done such a project as this already. I believe it was called "The Equestrian Invasion". Bonus points for good use of foley and sound effects.
