I enjoyed Past Sins, disregarding the numerous grammar errors and Mary Sue-ness.

58719 The general Mary Sue has like no flaws. When Nyx turns to Nightmare Moon we see some of her faults, and she almost dies at one part. I don't know, maybe.

58723I think she was too much of a crybaby even being Nightmare Moon. She allowed that duality of hers to feast upon herself too much. It's kind of like the opposite of a Mary Sue; she thinks she has so many problems that it kind of gets annoying at some parts.
This reminds me of a comic abut Lauren Faust and Victor von Doom killing Nyx and the rest of the bronies...

58731 I liked the crybaby filly Nyx, I think it did well to her character. But when she is Nightmare Moon, I think she should've been made a little stronger and not so... whiny. I expected a more time-consuming transformation towards the good Nyx rather than what was written.
SPOILER: I talked to Pen Stroke & Mr. Gloom a while back, they plan on writing Past Sins v2.0 sometime soon (it will be a complete re-write, not just a "let's go back and correct mistakes")

Only thing of Past sins I have read is the MST I am reading. Have not read the un riffed version.
I couldn't get past the prologue, it seems rather boring to me.

59023 I have a hard time getting past the huge following it has really. I mean I'm not against stuff because it's popular, I'm just not very keen on its fanbase. They act as if Nyx is a real character and treat her as if she's cannon, and that kind of makes me "eh", about the story. There's a difference between a story being popular, and people obsessing over it, Past Sins feels like the ladder.
59884 I get that. I was apprehensive to read it at first because of all the stories that are obsessed over I tend not to like them. My Little Dashie is a prime example. I decided to just give it a shot anyways, and the praise is well deserved. The over obsession and the fanbase I agree is a bit overwhelming.
