Okay, so apparently my computer was doing good for a while, then he left it on overnight to make sue it would stay working good, and the backlight was out again this morning. So now he's going to order a new video cable and then replace it, because that seems like the only possible explanation now.
And unfortunately, he'll get the cable sometime in between the 16th and 20th, which means not only will I not be able to do anything until then-ish, I'll have already left for college by the time he fixes it, and then I'll have to get it shipped to me, which adds another few days to my wait time, and then god forbid it breaks down again out there, I'll be fucked...
This is almost getting to be too much, if everything after getting the new screen weren't free.
Maybe it is time to just buy a new computer. . . .

The thing is... It's like I have a great house, but I can't get the light sockets working... Everything else in the house works perfectly, locks are good, plenty of storage space for my stuff, a nice TV, but I just can't turn the lights on...

Not quite the right time for that either, since all the work since getting them to replace the screen has been free. I'm pretty sure they didn't even bill me for the cable, since they charged me for the screen purchase before they ordered it.
