I had such an awesome time at Bronycon! It's been years since the last time I've been to a con, so if it seems like I'm rambling, please bear with me. First of all, big hugs to Sapphire for embroidering the cutie mark for my Magnum cosplay! Without that, it would not have been complete. Additional thanks to AJ for teaching me how to make the tail and ears at the cosplay meet. And thanks to Steve for putting up with the last minute room changes so well.
I know I ran into a lot of folks in the halls and chatted for a minute or three before moving on to panels, or getting separated by folks looking for photos and/or gophering duty. Still, each time I ran into someone a smile was brought to my face, no matter how much pain from my feet or knee... especially when it was someone I hadn't seen in ages.
It was pretty interesting to be walking down the halls and being stopped almost every ten steps for a picture, or having someone cosplaying as Rarity or Sweetie Belle yell "Daddy!" and run up for a hug and picture. There was at least one point where I took refuge in the cosplayer lounge for a while so that I could just sit and relax for a few. I guess I'm officially 'Magnum' now.
The gala kinda busted thanks to scheduling issues, especially since so many took great pains to try and make it when it changed from Sat to Fri before it changed back again. I'm a little sad that I was too sore and tired to try and go again on Sat, but that's how things go sometimes.
I ran into Dustykatt and that was awesome! Getting an autograph from Lee Tockar on a poster from the Enterplay booth that had Steven Magnet rather prominently displayed was too cool for words! He really is such a great guy to chat with. Missed out on a photo with him, he had to run for some sort of emergency... There's always next time I guess... Got my photo taken with Cathy Weseluck instead. She got a kick out of my cosplay and started talking like Spike while she admired my Rarity plushie from Serenity.
I found two of my favorite fan-fic authors while I was there and had a chance to talk to both of them! The Descendant and Capn Chryssalid both have some truly epic works and I totally recommend them both.
One thing I never expected was to buy one of the mystery boxes from the Traveling Pony Museum and win their Grand Prize! I stumbled away from their booth, stunned that I won all that stuff and ended up over at Purple Tinker's booth. Looking over the stuff, I about had a heart attack when I saw she had a Rarity card for sale. She even threw in a poster when I bought it!
Finally, more hugs for Ori for the totally cool buttons and finishing our art trade while we waited! Once I get it scanned, I'm totally going to get that framed and hang it over my desk
