I have seen a lot of readers and writers on this site raging that Twilicorn breaks the show, the shark has been jumped etc... Frankly, I'm having trouble understanding why there is such rage. There have been little hints and clues throughout that Twilight was destined to be somepony special. When the series started, she had a lot of issues with her magic going awry and teleporting took a lot of effort. By end of the second season she could teleport a group a long distance while running.
The key here is growth. Twi has been growing as a character since the first episode. While change can be scary, it also prevents things from getting stale, boring and predictable. So far, my only gripe was that she knew how to fly immediately. I would've loved an episode with Dash and Shy teaching Twi how to fly, but oh well. Might still get something along those lines...
Also, people are forgetting something. Twilight earned her wings through hard work and study. Yes she became a Princess, but she worked her little plot off for it. As far as I'm concerned, a lot of the complaints about how her ascension is a show breaker are invalid.
