Ever have an idea so grand that... · 12:15am Aug 7th, 2013
That you have no idea what to do with it?
I don't trust myself to handle this idea alone, nor do I have the time right now. One day I will do it though.
Anyway the idea is:
Story name: Sub-Terra
Inspirations: Cloud Atlas, Dead Space, Resident Evil, Bio-dome
I thought of this idea while in the shower by asking these questions.
What if the world was as advanced as say... Dues Ex: HR?
What if once they achieved space flight they learned that the sun and moon weren't real?
What if Celestia and Luna died?
From these questions the idea of a story 1000+ years after the death of Celestia and Luna sprouted into my head.
It would be narrated through a video log that Princess Twilight is making, detailing how things got the way they are in the present (the status of the world will not be revealed for a while).
The bulk of the story takes place in The Hive, a massive underground shelter that Twilight had built after she learned that the Princesses were dying. When I say massive I mean massive, the smallest level of the hive is about as large as Maine, while the largest is the size of Texas.
Anyway the story is mainly Twilight talking about how the world dealt with armageddon, the rise, fall, and eventual return of the worlds civilization, and how life goes on.
The idea is for Twilight to narrate (aka recap) several key moments of her life, and the lives of other ponies, and events that set everything into motion and how those events played out, all leading back to the present.
The story is just so ambitious, and the scale is just so grand that it's hard to wrap my mind around. I made thought of it, but have no idea how to even start planning this thing. I don't want to lose this idea, any suggestions on what to do would be appreciated.
Let's also think of some cool stuff that could fit in the story, you ask and I tell since there is a lot on my mind.
Know that feel..
Got my own. Scared that if I start, it will just shatter...
