How I write · 5:50pm Jul 30th, 2013
Step 1: Don't sleep. Insomnia is a great thing when writing. It makes everything you write more vivid in your brain. Well at least for me where I start hallucinating that little demonic things are crawling under my skin, But I digress, first be tired.
Step 2: Think of an idea. Any idea. Terrible ideas, good ideas anything. Combine ideas if you can. Can't have too many ideas. I have so many that if I opened my mouth an idea would come out of it. And so yes this is why you will be seeing more of the Knights of Harmony. We know Fluttershy's Power. The fun part is figuring out the rest of them.
Step 3: Write in a room that has no distractions. Turn on music. Write. (Most of my chapter titles [except for Animation Corps: Entropy] are based around first an idea from step 2 and a song. Instant chapter title.
Step 4: Write what comes to mind. And don't worry about corrupting any source materials if you use any. That's where you say buck it and go crazy. Examples: crossovers. If you at least keep the general idea of a character you are doing good. I know the end of all my stories and most seem to be ending tragically. (Damn Charles Dickens and his books. Most end somewhat tragically with a nice moral lesson.) If you've read any Stephen King books (namely Needful Things or Under the Dome...AC:E might end like that. Or since most of the series I'm crossing over have giant robots...giant robot battle to the death. Here's a hint as to why Twilight Sparkle Appleloosan Sheriff has a tragedy tag. It will not end on a happy note. And that's what the Gala episode (or at least my rendition since I am NOT doing a Ticketmaster chapter will be.) will be. Why have I added Chrysalis so early? Actually I haven't since in the first chapter I put that there was a wedding. (and no no matter whatever you guys say I shall never use Princess Skyla- I have already created an alicorn royal kid. (Actually two, I might bring the other back. Still my favorite two stories I wrote were Brand New Powers and Corruption and Chaos. Not for their faults but for their potential. (I have built my entire headcanon off of those two stories. Really go back and read them. Most of my stories have elements from those stories in spades.)
Step 5: Write for you and the people who favorite the story. People dislike stories all the time. (I don't believe I ever have but maybe I have, I don't remember.) Take criticism and answer questions about the story but don't give too much away.
Step 6: Writer's block. Begin to write another story idea when you have writer's block. Addendum: Do not write while you are depressed. Bad things happen. Or sad things.
This is the way I write. And whenever you have a new idea for a chapter write it.
That is similar to me in some ways. In the day... I usualy can't write much at all. But come 10/11 at night when im tired and want to go to bed... not only do i get a whole swag of ideas, but I also usualy then decide to write which takes me till sometime in the early morning when the ideas just keep coming.
Thats where a cute new TwiPie, Flutterdash and RarJack story is coming in soon party because of those factors
I don't like being tired. But it somehow seems to be able to help. Although I find that if im too tired, then I simply cant write.
Although if you remember my early story, A Date Over The Rainbow, chapter 2.... that was written after having had a ton of energy drink and I hadent' slept in more than a day, so was drifting in and out of reality... that.... and when I was there I had my Flutterdash toys out and was roaming the hallway trying to compose a good flight sequence for the lovers you get some weird stuff when your that tired.
in regards to music... I seem to be able to write with either metal, or something light. Metal if im writing a cute cuddly scene, sedate music if im writing other stuff.
One of my stories, the one focusing on Princess twilight was written when I was kinda depressed. Now I find it impossible to add anything to now that im not.
I write for people like you because you enjoy the Flutterdash. They're the best
I like to have a plan for where my stories go as I rely on the sctructure. But coming up with extra fluff when im actualy writing it is half the fun
...Oh and, do you like my cute new avatar?

Yeah this is how I write. Though for some reason I listen to dubstep or techno when writing. That's funny cause that is the only time I like that kind of music. I wrote the entire first chapter of Animation Corps: Entropy in 20 hours. I think it was because I had drunk seven cans of Mountain Dew Voltage and I was amped. Yeah it was similar to when I first drank Monster energy drinks. I drank one and I stayed up for two days.
Caffeine and I have a love hate relationship. On the whole depressed side of writing: I wrote the Death of Loyalty when I was depressed about college. First semester was tough. So I wrote that, what almost 10 months ago? And now I don't feel like adding much to it. Also A Learning Experience was also done when depressed.
Oh and I'm starting AC:E chapter 3 with a Flutterdash sequence. It might not go the way people might expect. (You'll know something's off since I plan for this part to be in pony form...yeah when I refer to them as ponies and not girls stuff is wrong. It might be the raciest kind of writing I might do- I don't do clop well- though I never tried that much. Though it might not be a "clop scene" it just will be more racy than I usually write (outside of mentioning sexual situations I don't do that.)
Get ready for my kind of Flutterdash which is a little bit different. (Hint:: RD is a vampire for a reason outside of the fact that I thought she would fit the bill. I love vampires. (whoever played Mina Harper in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen I had a crush on.) So yeah Noctus is coming up and I love Hellsing. So woohoo this is gonna be fun to write. (Chapter 4 will be the Fluttershy awesomeness.)
And your avatar is awesome,
1250232 I can drink 2 big cans of V (the tastest energy drink in New Zealand, or so my friends and I think) and be awake. If I only have one big can, I can have it and go straight to bed... It just has no effect on me, till it hits overdose time and then I can write and edit without going to bed. The only time I had 3 was when writing A Date Over the Rainbow as I wanted to finish the chapter before going to bed.
Im no fan of vampires. I think they are, and can only be evil. But,,, your next chapter certanly does sound interesting.
