Yeah, I'm not so good at the longer-term projects.
I was reading The Immortal Game (which is amazing and y'all should read it), and I suddenly had the urge to write. And out of that, Nightmare was born. Basically, while Nightmare Moon is locked in the moon, she haunts Celestia's dreams.
It's actually a neat idea that I might play around with a bit more. Then again, I thought that about Numbers for a while, but I could never bring myself to expand that. That being said, if you have a brilliant idea for a prequel/sequel/midquel/whateverquel to Numbers, let me know and I will do my best to bring it justice! Or write it yourself and just link back to the original piece! Either way works!
Anyhow, if you look through Nightmare, find it's an absolute mess, and have some urge to fix it, then I welcome that. I know most people don't spend their time and energy editing published works made my lazy authors, but hay, if you are one of the kind individuals that does so, then please let me know. I welcome all the help I can get.
Right now I'm slowly working on A Place Among the Gods, a new idea for a novella that explores the beginnings of an Equestrian transition from a monarchy to a republic. There's politics, alicorns, debatable terrorism, and evil Lyra. That will hopefully get done, unlike any other long term project I start.
As for Cacophony, the Tavi/Scratch I mentioned in my first post, that is currently shelved. It was just sort of bland and uninspiring. I might revisit the original idea, which was Octavia exploring the political world of music while in competition with Vinyl Scratch, but that won't happen any time soon. Some of the ideas were recycled and updated into "Place", so that could morph into a prequel.
As for the currently unnamed war fic (For The Greater Good? Still uncertain), that is sort of an on/off project. I still love the idea and am willing to work on it, but it's a long one so don't expect it to be done with this...year.
Heh, I'm writing as if someone is actually going to read this post.
So, enjoy Nightmare! If you like it, hit that wonderful thumbs up button, maybe give me a favorite or a follow (or both!), and tell me what you think in the comments. I put some headcanon into the author's note, so I welcome you to expand on that and give me your own flavor on Celestia, Luna, Nightmare Moon, and their relationships and connections.
