una gran aventura para ti y para mi · 1:33am Mar 29th, 2012

Okay, for whomever has no idea of what today's chapter's about, well...here.

This was fun for me in a number of ways. For starters, "El Mariachi Loco" is a traditional song and doesn't have many lyrics, so most performers either repeat the same lyrics over and over again, or do what Oscar Florez did and have a field day with it. Because I was bringing it into the MLP world, I made a few lyrics changes (gender, for one; changing the drink from tequila to cider - using the original would have probably made Tequila go apeshit, not that she knew what Pinkie was singing in the first place.) I also wrote a stanza that was meant to be completely insulting to Solestra; singing that in front of her face means our pink gypsy pony has either no fear or sense of sanity (you chooose.)

As to why a mariachi song? Well, it's been my personal opinion that Pinkie's supposed to represent, in part, Hispanics. No, seriously. She threw a cute-ceañera together for Diamond Tiara (a quinceañera, for those not in the know, is the traditional party held for Hispanic girls who turn fifteen), at the beginning of Read It and Weep, she utters "Ayayayayay!" and anyone who's seen a telenovela needs no further explanation (for those that do, it's an interjection.) Lastly, she's worried about the correct name of chimicherry (or cherrychanga, my personal thought - for the record, it's a sopaipilla.) Nothing confirmed, of course, just my take on her.

Lastly, on a more personal note, thanks to the folks who made the jump from here to my webcomic. Never thought that getting into fanfics again would have a net gain for my semi-professional works, but there ya go.

I will never look at my favorite pony the same way again because of this post. :pinkiegasp::pinkiecrazy:
And I checked out that webcomic. Good stuff. Would the name happen to refer to the French painter, or is that just a coincidence?
Anyways, keep up the good work. :pinkiehappy:

Congratulations! You win 50 Internets. :rainbowlaugh: Yup, it's meant to be a pun, and it always surprises me how many people don't figure it out.

55610 Lol. People don't get it probably because they have better things to do then listen during 10th grade history class when they go over stuff like that. I think the extent of most "household" names in art is Picasso and Dali. And even that is a stretch sometimes.
