If you're like me then you have read 'that' fanfic. Personally I disliked the fanfic from the get-go and all of the sequels and spinoffs that folowed, the reason for this is because some individuals see something cute and cuddlily and have a desire to corrupt it in any way imaginable. Take for example any kids show made in the late 90's say Digimon and then twist the character's personalities or make them as corrupt as possible and there you have it. The ingredients for a Gridmark fic.
In short: Say No to Gridmarking.
I agree somewhat.

In what way?
45392 I agree with your hating of 'the fic that must not be named' but not grimdark in general. There are some grimdark stories that are quite good! Look at Fallout: Equestria for instance! I think it might be grimdark, but yet it's really good. Another one is the Silent Ponyville series. Grimdark as hell, but still a good read. You see, there are some exceptions to grimdark! (At least in my mind)

Okay I agree that some gridmark fics are the exception but the overall need to corrupt is there.
