Ok! So I stopped writing Twilight Unchained because I didn't like that chapter and wasn't really sure what would be the best way to handle Playing with Jacks and Gems... but I think I've finally wrapped my head around the way I want it to go, the realism (or hyper-relational-realism, as it were, if you can get it close to such in a fiction about sentient and magically talented ponies) and the approach.
If you haven't figured it out yet (I'd worry if you hadn't) Applejack and Rarity will feature in the next chapter. I didn't want to depart from my idea of characterization, but then at the same time, I couldn't find a way to get to Carousel Boutique, and have thongs (omg, haha, whoops, Freud, hello?) heat up from there.
It means a major rewrite, and perhaps additional layering of plots, which is always a pain, but rewarding if I can pull it off.
