So Interlude 01 of Rise of the Legend is posted, long after I should have been finished with Chapter 002. Oh, and we still have one more installment to go before I start on chapter 002.
But before even that, I want to start working on some other fics. The Sacrifice is the working title of the next fic. It's not really one that I'm going to enjoy writing (though I will try to introduce a little dark comedy into it), but it's one that I really feel that I need to write. I'd also like to point out that the name will probably change.
Much like Rise of the Legend, it's going to be fairly long-spanning, but not nearly as much. As such, I feel that this writing schedule should work pretty well:
10 Rise of the Legend
20 The Sacrifice
30 Rise of the Legend
40 Other fics (one shots, few chapter stories, etc)
50 GOTO 10
Bonus points if you get why they're 10, 20, etc.
So now that you know my plans, it's good news/bad news time. First the bad news: Things are a little dodgy at best for me right now in terms of pretty much anything I plan to do. Part of that is the fact that my computer is dying and part of that has to do with other things. The good news is a two-fer (one partially cancelling out the bad news and the other standing on its own):
1. I'll be getting the parts for a new computer sometime in late May/early June, and by that time, the other problems should resolve themselves, too.
2. Chapter 01 of The Sacrifice is already written; I just need to edit it.
Now, Chapter 01 of The Sacrifice is not nearly as long as Rise of the Legend's first chapter. It's about four pages at MLA format (my default settings because I'm a nerd), but a quick glance shows that I really do need to do quite a bit of editing on it. I'm certain that it won't take nearly as long as Rise of the Legend's first chapter did for a variety of reasons, but don't expect it before these problems resolve.
Oh, right. One last note: It will be a mature fic, so if you want to stay away from those as much as possible, don't get really excited over it.
Edit: By the way, this is the current version of the computer build I'm doing. It will change depending on what's on sale when I can actually order it, but a few people have commented that they rather like that build as a budget gaming PC (I'll be using it for video editing, drawing, and other things as well).
Edit3: All notes have been moved to that link and, if anything changes, that link should update.
