Why you should respect your characters

    Hey guys, DarkShockBro here.

    *WARNING!*

Just a fair warning, this journal MAY be controversial. Plus, it's pretty personal. I want you to go into this with as open of a mind as you can, please. Also, I will be referencing none of my stories or any other stories, as I feel like that would defeat the purpose of a journal that I want to be universal. OK? Thank you.

How to show respect for your characters: Part 2

    *WARNING: RANT AHEAD*

Hey guys, DarkShockBro here. You know, I was hoping that the criteria I detailed in the first part of how to show respect for your characters would be followed more often than not. Sadly, in my recent Total Drama and Suvivor binge (including Fan Fics), I have found that is anything but the case, primarily in antagonists.

How to show respect for your characters

    Hey guys, DarkShockBro here.

Being a creative writer myself, I tend to read a lot of fan fiction and watch a lot of cartoons. During this time, I tend to pick up on certain characteristics common to every work of literature. Some of these traits are good, others not so much.

Picture Contest for new DT Collaboration!

    Hey, guys, DarkShockBro here.

Well, as I mentioned in my previous blog, I am holding a contest to see who can improve my horrible sketch into a solid title image for the DT collaboration me and Shadoroq are doing. The winner of said contest will recieve my sincere gratitude, a heartfelt credit, and a free OC to be a part of an organization made specifically for this collaboration!

    It's been a while...

    Hey guys, DarkShockBro here.

I'm sorry I haven't been visiting this site in a good long while, but I'm back with lots of news!

First and foremost, the first arc of the collaboration between me and Shadoroq is DONE. We've been working hard to make this story a special experience, and I think you'll enjoy our contrasting styles.

Hey, everypony!

Don't worry, I'm not dead yet, and I haven't given up on my story yet. In fact, I already have some decent ideas for Chapter 23!

However, I just haven't been visiting this site for a while.

It might be because I'm actually on a sports team now (We have boys volleyball in my school. Yes, I am serious.); might be because I've found other sites; might even be because I've just been in a rut and don't feel like doing creative writing at this moment.

But, fortunately for me, English class is actually being HELPFUL. Yeah, that's right, HELPFUL. We have to do a creative writing assignment, and I think I'm beginning to feel some of those creative juices flow back into me. With any luck, I should have Chapter 23 up within a week, and I'll be a more active contributor to this site.

Creative writing is fun for me; it's just the sin of sloth is beginning to catch up to me. But, I will do my best to press on.

Heck, I might not even be a writer when I grow up. Maybe I'll join the music industry, or the computer industry. Still, I've started this story, and sooner or later, I intend to finish it.

PS: On a somewhat unrelated note, take a look at this: http://f00ster.deviantart.com/art/Req-First-impressions-367330903?q=gallery%3Af00ster&qo=1

This guy does free commissions, and his work, as you can see, is pretty awesome. Kudos to F00ster for being awesome!

I knew you would return one day. That's why I've forged a divine spear made of pure tanzanite to aid you in your quest. I sold it in order to obtain an unfathomable amount of wealth, which I used to fund an organization that stops parents from helping their children beat their older siblings at competitive activities. So now we can press onward and bring new life to the creative arts, letting any and all restrictions only inspire more elaborate and fantastical means of storytelling.

Also, good to see you're doing well.
