Pokemon Firered Nuzlocke Challenge · 7:14am Apr 23rd, 2013
I have played and beaten every Pokemon game in existence (minus the mystery dungeon games, they are weird), so they have gotten boring. So I decided to attempt the Nuzlocke challenge, and document it on here.
For those that don't know, the Nuzlocke challenge makes a Pokemon game a lot more difficult. The following rules are things I must do during the game:
Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released.
The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances. If the first encounter in the area is a Double Battle in dark grass, the player may choose which of the two Pokémon they would like to catch.
While not exactly a definite rule, the general consensus is that players must also nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.
Also not a definite rule, but the general consensus is that a black out/white out is considered to be "game over", even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
I would keep track of my progress on here, and let you guys name my caught Pokemon. What do ya say? Sound like fun? I would post daily pictures or progress or other random stuff that occurs during the game. I'm doing this because it sounds fun, challenging, and it's something you guys can laugh at me for when I fail miserably. I have seen various MLP pages on Facebook do them, and it seems like a blast :D

You know, honestly speaking though, these constraints actually make it that the game has to be played how it's intended.
I NEVER use potions in pokemon. EVER. Permadeath means... you'd be more cautious and take advantage of the mechanics better, innit. I kind of wish they made pokemon HARDER for that reason.. to actually make you use items and stuff, I dunno. I never use anything. I just let them faint and go 'aw fuggit, the pokecenter's just around the corner innit'.

I'm interested in different Pokemon. I always use Squirtle, Electabuzz, Nidoking, Arcanine, Scyther and somebody else...I don't remember. It gets so boring using the same types over and over...this should be a fun way to get a new perspective.

Funny thing, I always end up using the same pokemon too. I always use a certain specific set... Chandelure is always on my list. Lucario too because I'm... you know. a sheep.
Speaking of sheep, my favourite electric is the Flaafy line...

I don't use emulators, just my game boy, and that's not very good for capturing video.
Plus, I'm not very funny...ask Jerry about my Lets Play Slender during our Skype calls. I'm not that entertaining. Lol
And I use Lucario as well...BAAAAAAAAA

This will be interesting! And this reminds me, I should really replay some of my pokemon games. But I'll be here to laugh at it all. Especially at the fact all pokemon will be like the Legendary Dogs in a sense. That also reminds me that I need to bring up my old Gold game and actually catch them.
