CloudTop says he is Blessed...and rightly so, but....

He says he is Blessed because I gave up my life dream and goal to be his mom...and i did...

I had just started college and dreamed of being a Marine Mammal Trainer. I had 3 internships lined up, 2 working with Gorillas and one working with Dolphins. A lot of people are familiar with Koko the sign language gorilla that has had her own kitten. I met one of her trainers at the very first International Gorilla Conference that the Columbus Zoo sponsored. It was truly a privilege and an honor to be invited as I was the only student in attendance. It was a week long conference with 8 countries represented, many zoo keepers and the president of the Gorilla Fund, the organization that supports the late Dian Fossey's work in Africa. It was these two people that had extended invitations for internships. It was amazing! The other internship that was offered to me was at Cedar Point in OH, the roller coaster capital of the world. At that time, they had dolphins and I was offered a summer internship making more money than I currently make now.

This all happened the Summer of 1990. That Fall, I got pregnant. I had initially considered adoption and knew a family that was more than willing to adopt. Then, when I decided to keep him, the same family was still willing to support me and help me take care of my baby as I went through school. But the baby's daddy had his own agenda, convincing me to marry him. I had a choice and I thought he loved me, so I chose motherhood over career. I can honestly say...Deciding to keep and have my baby was the best decision I have ever made. It wasn't easy...at all. His father didn't love me and home life was anything but serene. After 5 1/2 yrs, I left. Being a single mom with no education made it very difficult, but I made it! Over the yrs I had tried to go back to college, but I would get sick and have to leave school. I never really reconsidered Marine Mammals again. I figured it was something I let go of...With NO Regrets. I had my son! My Beautiful, Wonderful Son!

Fast forward 21 yrs...

Joe and I went swimming with the Dolphins at Six Flags for his 21st B-Day. How appropriate, I thought. Swimming with the very animals I gave up to be his mom...now I get to share them with him. It was very special for both of us because of this. I cried the whole time I was in the water with the dolphins. It was then that I realized I still wanted to work with and train dolphins. It all came flooding back after 20+ years. I made it a goal then that I wanted to be in school pursuing my Psych/Zoology degrees within a year. Well...here we are...almost a yr later and I am enrolled at the Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL! I start this Fall.

I'm still a little shell-shocked at the chance to be able to pursue this dream of mine. Especially after 20 yrs. It is truly amazing to me. I have The Most Amazing Son...and now I get go back to school to finish my degrees to work with marine mammals after all these (long, long, long) years. I never would have expected this. I truly have the best of both worlds!

To The Best Son EVER!! I Love You My Son!!! And I am So Very Proud Of You!!! You are by far the best thing I have ever done with my life and I thank the Dear Lord for the opportunity to be Your Mom!

God Bless You!

Love, Mom

Your son is truly a good man. He helps me when I'm feeling down. It's true, some days are dark and lonely, but if I feel sad, Cloudy will be there to show me it isn't that bad.

God bless you and your son.

Hey Speed Jumper,

Thank You So Very Much!!! It has been very difficult for Joe growing up without a positive male role model. I can truly say...I did the very best I could with Joseph. I am far from perfect, but honestly think I did...OK!!! :ajsmug:

I didn't have a positive female role model growing up either, so I became the mom I only wished I had. I pray Joe will do the same. He truly is such a wonderful human being and I am so extremely Proud of him and so very Thankful to be his Mom!!!

Joe genuinely has a BIG  I know you are one of his closest friends...so Thank You too!!! It's been a big Blessing to be part of Joe's world here on fimfic. :pinkiehappy: It Blesses my heart to see his friends support him!

God Bless!!! :scootangel:

Y is there no clap emote?
Oh well, you get the message.

1026330 God really has blessed me. He has blessed me with you as a friend. You, and the many others that I have met through this site. It really is amazing to think, that I have met you, and all of the others, simply because I became of fact that I decided in October of last year, to try my hand at writing, something I never thought I would ever have done. I truly am blessed that I have the friends that I do.
