Sorry, I kind of feel like I'm spamming you guys with these blog posts sometimes, but I figured that there are probably some people out there wondering "where the hell are these rewrites Fission promised us?" Well, to say the least, chapter two has not been going particularly smoothly. When I reread what I originally had for the performance of Beohoof, I felt like hurting myself; it was that bad. Revising that part specifically has been particularly a challenge though, so that's a big part of why it's taking so long. I'm hoping that when I get these rewrites to you I will have successfully alleviated most of the issues my early chapters currently suffer from. I'll post another blog post when I've finished those revisions since I will be replacing the old chapters with the revisions and you guys don't get any sort of notification unless I actually post a new chapter.
Aside from the news on the revisions, I suppose I should let you guys know about my plans for after I finish them. So, after I post the rewrites and whatnot I'm going to get cracking on chapter 5. I've got a pretty good idea of what's going to happen (Trixie's perspective) and if things come together how I hope, then you should all be in for a treat. I absolutely love writing Trixie's character by the way; it's so fun to envision her in the situations I'm putting her in and think of how she would react (the haughty lines are fun to come up with too). So yeah, I'm expecting chapter 5 to be a lot of fun to write, and hopefully I can bring some of that positive energy to bear in the writing so that it's particularly good.
I'm hoping that chapter 5 will take much less time than things have been taking me lately, honestly, after this rewriting I'm expecting the new material to be a breeze. After I get that one published, I have an idea for a shortish one-shot about the first meeting of Twilight's parents entitled "Some Enchanted Evening" (points for you if you get the reference). I think that you guys will probably enjoy that one supposing you take the time to read it. After that, I'm going to focus on Unfinished Business again until I can see the story through to the finish. I already have my next multi-chapter fic idea, and I think you guys will love it. I suppose I won't reveal anything specific about the plot right now; but it will be primarily comedic with some elements of shipping, sort of in the vein of Beating the Heat.
