I Should Probably Make it Official.

While I doubt that this is something that many people are really concerned about, I want to say that I'm not planning on writing anything more in this fandom. I logged onto the site on a whim, as I have on a few other occasions in the last couple years, and it's taken me on a bit of a trip down memory lane.

That Was a Hell of a Month.

So, I'm done with finals and just got home a couple of hours ago and I feel completely exhausted. It's really awesome to be back, though, despite the fact that I feel the need to do nothing but play video games and sleep for several days just to recuperate.

A Taste of What is in Store

Hey everyone. I've been doing some planning for the longer RariLight fic I'm planning on writing. And, while I am by no means done with planning it, I got some words on paper for today's Thirty Minute Ponies prompt. Another Update

Sorry, I kind of feel like I'm spamming you guys with these blog posts sometimes, but I figured that there are probably some people out there wondering "where the hell are these rewrites Fission promised us?" Well, to say the least, chapter two has not been going particularly smoothly. When I reread what I originally had for the performance of Beohoof, I felt like hurting myself; it was

A Taste of What is in Store · 7:54am Jan 14th, 2013

Hey everyone. I've been doing some planning for the longer RariLight fic I'm planning on writing. And, while I am by no means done with planning it, I got some words on paper for today's Thirty Minute Ponies prompt. This is what I envision for the opening scene of the story as of right now; and it is presented exactly as I wrote it for the prompt, so there may be mistakes. Obviously, the exact writing of the scene is likely going to undergo changes before the final form, as I only had thirty minutes to write. But, anyway, I'm rambling. So here is the first sketch of the opening scene of my story entitled "Posture"

“Oh, Twilight, you look simply incredible! I can’t imagine why I don’t ask you to model for me more often.”

Twilight pawed at the ground in front of her. “Well, thank you, Rarity. I’m always glad to help out when I can, but you flatter me. Sure, I may not be ugly, but I’m not pretty like you and the rest of the girls.”

Twilight stood with her side turned to Rarity, wearing a flowing dress of a gentle yellow. The color would not have quite fit any of the others, so Twilight, who perhaps knew less about fashion than she did about anything else, was enlisted to model.

“Twilight, dear, I meant that with absolute sincerity. You are just as gorgeous as the rest of us, if not more so. You have the sort of natural beauty that I can only imagine possessing, myself. After all, you maintain your looks so effortlessly, while it takes me hours of maintenance to look presentable.”

“Well, I still don’t think that I’m half as pretty as you say, but that’s a lovely compliment, Rarity,” Twilight said, her blush fading as she looked at Rarity thoughtfully.

“Oh, it’s nothing.” Rarity waved a hoof. “I’m only speaking the truth as I see it. Well, everything appears to be in order with the dress, from this position at least. Twilight, would you mind perhaps sitting down for a moment? I need to check if the dress will retain its functionality.”

“No problem!” Twilight leaned back, settling most of her weight on her flanks. It was a natural position for her, as any avid reader invariably would spend a fair amount of time sitting.

“Oh dear.”

“What’s wrong, Rarity? Does the dress not look right? Do we need to change something?”

“No, no, the dress is fine. But wherever did you learn to sit like that? Your posture is simply dreadful.

“My posture? This is exactly how I always sit when I’m reading or doing research.”

“Well, that seems to help pinpoint the cause. Dear, have you realized how much you hunch over? Lotus and Aloe would have a fit if they realized I was letting a dear friend do herself such a disservice! You must be wreaking absolute havoc on your neck!”

“Is it really that bad? I guess my neck starts to ache a little bit after I read for a few hours, but I never thought that it was a problem.”

Rarity chuckled to herself, holding a hoof to her mouth. “Oh, of course it’s because you read so much, Twilight. I barely catch site of you other than when I’m at the library! However, I believe that this is a fixable problem. You’re hardly the first pony with poor posture. It will simply be a matter of your discipline. You’re simply going to need to try to make the change; after all, nopony ever got anywhere without a little bit of effort.”

“Rarity, I’m not sure how exactly I’m supposed to do this though. I mean, maybe we have a book on improving posture in the self-help section, but I can’t really critique my own posture.”

“Twilight, dear, the answer is simple,” Rarity said with a gleam in her eye. “I’m simply going to have to teach you! I’ve spent no small amount of time adjusting my own posture, actually. Hunching over a sewing machine does much the same thing as reading constantly does, so I’m not particularly surprised to see you have the same sort of problems as I did.”

“Well, if it’s really that bad, I suppose it couldn’t hurt for you to give me some lessons.”

“Excellent!” Rarity’s eyes sparkled. “Then let us begin.”

I'm pretty excited for this story, and I only hope that it will turn out as well as I think it can. Thanks for reading, everyone.
Until next time

*sits up straight in chair* :ajbemused: I was comfortable until you made me think about it... :rainbowwild:

Nice writing though.

710311 haha don't worry, I've probably got just about the worst sitting posture of anyone that I know, so it's not like I'm a chiropractor just using this fic as a chance to preach. Knowing my own habits just made me chuckle a little bit when I had the idea.
