Let's all play a game! · 1:32am Mar 21st, 2012
The thought struck me today that the more observant of you have, by now, surely noticed my tendency to use references as my chapter titles. Obviously, they have all been altered sort of in the style of Psych episode titling (though, lord knows they're not always consistent with it). Regardless... as obscure as some of them may be, I assure you all that each chapter title is, in fact, a reference to something, whether it be book, song, or movie.
Now, I'm curious to see how many of them actually got caught by you, my faithful readers. So... enlighten me! Give it your best shot! Tell me what you think my titles are referencing in the comments below. For funsies. If you feel like it.
The first one to get all of them right gets an undetermined prize! Undetermined mostly because I don't know what it's going to be yet. Perhaps a cameo of your character/oc of choice in the next chapter (within the bounds established by the story)? Perhaps I will simply let the honor of being the first to get it right be its own reward. Don't get excited... no promises.
As a side note... Holy shit these guys here:
Are coming to Pittsburgh on the 27th. There is absolutely 0 chance of me not being there.
Chapter 1: Where the (Wild) Things are.
Chapter 2: A brief history of (Time).
Chapter 3: Once upon a time...
Chapter 4: ...I don't think this is a reference... uh...
Chapter 5: In (God) We Trust.
Chapter 6: Slum Dog (Millionaire).
Chapter 7: From (Russia) With Love.
Phew, there we go. Couldn't get Chapter 4 right away, but whatever.

Ah, so close!
Admittedly, numbers 3 and 4 are particularly difficult. Don't give up, though! You got the rest of them right quick. If no one has guessed them by tomorrow evening, I'll start dropping hints until someone does.
chapter 7-from Russia with love
chapter 6-slum dog millionaire
Chapter 5- in god we trust
Chapter 4- 2+2=5
Chapter 3-once upon a time in America
Chapter 2-a brief history of time
Chapter 1-where the wild things are
I apologize for the horrible grammar, I'm on my phone.

Ah, there it is!
For number 3, I would have also accepted "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" as that is probably my favorite senseless action flick of all time.
Jolly good show, sir. Jolly good show.
Man... this lasted a lot less time than I thought... I guess it's yet another lesson from the universe telling me I'm not as clever as I think I am. Still... a game's a game. And the winner gets his prize. Let me know if there's a particular character/OC you'd like to see make a cameo (I would like to reiterate the word cameo, here, for effect) in the next chapter. I promise to do my best to work it in, though I may have to refuse if it's just too ridiculous to justify or just does not fit into the story at all (for instance, Optimus Prime will not be walking into the party to ruin everyone's day).
