    I call bull on Starswirl's incomplete masterpiece. If it's incomplete, why does Celestia call it a masterpiece to begin with?

    Because it's meant to be. The entire point of the spell is that the incomplete half, together with a personalized other half, creates a personal alicorn transformation spell.

    Celestia sent the spellbook to Twilight knowing exactly what would happen.

    There's something that has recently come up in the show...

    ...and I just can't wrap my head around it. It's driving me to distraction.

    I'm talking about the fact that the Crystal Empire is so close to Ponyville that the train ride there and back takes less than an afternoon. It's two completely separate biomes, fer Celestia's sake! They'd be thousands of kilometers apart on an Earth-scale and type planet.

Does Trixie get stuck on a Ferris Wheel at the same time a meteor strikes, and she's forced to watch the entire town get swept up by destruction except for the Ferris wheel, therefore fostering her distrust of wheels? It has a meteor, so that's my guess.
