Some Fun Things, and Some Progress · 9:26pm Apr 12th, 2013

First things first, because I kinda like seeing big things happen:

Anyway, recently I made a riddle, and the people I showed it to seemed to enjoy it, so I'll post it up here for your viewing pleasure. If you attempt it, I wish you the best of luck with it.

Twilight Sparkle is escorting her friends through a dark valley on a mission to Princess Celestia. They have been sent out to investigate a malevolent power that has mysteriously cropped up in the distance. With Spike on her back recording their findings, Twilight breaks out of the damp jungle they've been trekking through for hours, and come across a golden bridge.
"Finally!" Rainbow Dash groans. "My wings felt like they would fall off!
"Oh, please," Rarity interjects. "My hooves are killing me. And I got moss all over me!"
"Here, let me get it off," Fluttershy says as she begins to pick off the moss from her friend.
"Woohoo, sunlight!" Pinkie Pie cries out, blowing a kiss to the sun. For a moment, it blushes.
"So what's next, Twi?" Applejack says, setting down their supplies.
"I guess we cross this bridge—"
"NOT SO FAST!" All of them gasp, and look up to find a creature of green smoke looming over them. "You can't cross just yet."
Twilight was stunned for a moment, and then regains her composure. "Hello there. I am Twilight Sparkle, and we have been asked to investigate a malevolent force this way."
"Ah, I see." The smoke forms into a black-coated, purple-maned stallion. "Yes, there is something brewing past this bridge. But..." he looks at them with a menacing smile. "To cross my bridge, you have to solve my riddle."
"What?" Rainbow Dash flies right up to him. "That's not fa-ugh, blegh!" Suddenly, her fur begins to melt off.
"Rainbow Dash!" Twilight yells. "Get back here!" Rainbow Dash does just that, with her fur surprisingly unmelted. "We don't have time for this, whoever you are."
"Oh, but I do!" The stallion glares at them. "Solve my riddle, or you will never cross. There's no other way around, and you can't cheat. TRUST ME."
Applejack positions herself in front of Twilight. "Ah don' like this one bit, Twili', but I figure we ain't got much choice."
Twilight sighs. "Fine. Tell us your riddle." Before she can blink, the stallion is in front of them. They back away, and he begins to speak:
"In order to cross safely, you must cross in a specific order.
Cross in any other order, and everyone dies.
Here are the restrictions on your order:
Rainbow Dash must cross—"
"How do you know my name?"
"I know everyone's names. Anyway:
Rainbow Dash must cross some time before Pinkie Pie but some time after Fluttershy.
Rarity must be either the second or the fifth to cross.
Twilight must cross some time after Applejack.
The fourth to cross is an earth pony,
While the sixth to cross is a pegasus,
Oh, and Fluttershy must NOT cross first.
“Now figure out the correct order of who will cross.” He teleports across to the other side. “I'll be waiting for all of you on the other side.”
(one more thing: you can imagine Twilight as either a unicorn or an alicorn, but she is NOT a pegasus)

So figure out the order in which all of them cross, if you wish.

And lastly, updates. I have around 1,000 words written for the new chapter of "Big Siblings," and an almost-completed rough draft of "The Sunset Fantasy." Both will need to be edited before I post them on here, either tomorrow or Sunday. That blog post of Thanqol's works is being edited for clarity before I work on tackling "Yours Truly." I have been trying to find new stories for "Simply Slice-of-Life," and I've been sifting through a few, deciding which ones I'll talk about.

I'm not sure how that's possible, unless more than six ponies are crossing or one crosses back and forth. FS can't be last, because RD is after her. RD can't be last, because Pinkie is after her. And 6th is a pegasus, which I would assume to be last.
