The Fourth Chapter, Which in Counting is the Fourth · 7:15pm Mar 16th, 2012

By now, those who have been paying attention probably have figured out what is going on with the war. The rest of you will have to simply wait until the next chapter.

It's at this point that I'll start getting deep, sinking into the MLP legendarium and mythos, both canon and fanon. I've got to start approaching a few of the authors whose works I'd like to play around in and see if they agree. Hopefully so; if not, I'm going to have to create some workarounds. Technically I don't have to do this, but I respect the creations of other works (I'd have to, considering my own professional work is ripe for fics) and to do so is to ask permission.

Lastly: the destruction of Dodge Junction. I'm sure more than a few people are not going to be thrilled with that, but this is partially a war fic, and in wars, things are not pretty. People die and get hurt and sometimes it's the people you love most. Those, like me, who have served, have family who have served or even just appreciate the job the military does understand this too well - I daresay even those vehemently against the military understand it's not just a day-to-day job. So it will be for the mane cast. As was pointed out earlier, the six have already been in combat twice, and it was the Elements that saved the day. There was also the pie fight in Appaloosa, which is a metaphorical take on a gunfight. These are simplified, easy-to-digest battles. Not this time.
