"Cruise V.D.C Still Missing. Equestira Discontinues Search"

Well, nobody really liked this story. Discontinued until 'rebranded' .

Initially started as a homage to the original Bioshock, Jan's blog and a little-known mystery novel titled 'The Wasting Game.' However, it lacked clear direction and dedication, and so sunk.

"A map and maybe a plan, Button."

He associated the word with obnoxious rainbows and kittens with giant eyes, some place he would only dare visit sometimes.

    Semicolon

What's the point of that punctuation anyways? I try to use it sometimes but don't know when. I have read about it's usage but I could never really use it instead of a comma.

A Semicolon is used as:
Say this next sentence is part of a story

"Well no; wizards and sorceryers are not gay, at least not always."

A semi colon is used to express a list of things when someone is saying it, a colon is used to express things when someone is not saying it.

Or you can look it up instead of taking my not exact info, all I know is I used it right

33658 Didn't realize that anyone would actually read that. I only made that comment as I was writing my Fanfiction and was wondering if my comma is misplaced when there should be a semicolon. I looked it up and well...I don't quite get it.

It's okay though, I doubt I will need to use it.

People often connect two full sentences with a comma, which is a horrid practice. The only situation in which two sentences can be linked like that is if the second elaborates on the first, and in THAT case, you connect them with a semicolon.

wrong:
We went to the kitchen, that's where the party was.

Right:
We went to the kitchen; that's where the party was.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the semicolon; after all, connecting two related-yet-distinct ideas matches the flow of spoken dialogue better than putting full stops everywhere.

The semicolon has no real use. It connects two similar sentences, where the latter elaborates on the former. However, you can replace it with a period and achieve the same meaning.

Woe is grammar stupidity.
