Commas; My Arch-Nemesis · 11:00pm Mar 24th, 2013
After reading a good amount of fanfiction today while I wait for a game to install on my computer (still waiting on that) I decided to get back to work on writing my own fanfiction. Right now I have one pony WIP (and several non-pony ones...bah!) and after I published my latest story this one was sort of put on the back burner. I'm going back to it now but for now it's mostly just proof reading and editing the stuff I've already got written down. It seems that the biggest problem I seem to have with writing right now is indeed the comma.
Not bad for a published author.
I just seem to constantly extend sentences by adding more commas when I could, and probably should, insert a full stop and turn them in to several sentences. Still this is hardly the first great evil I've had to conquer and I'm sure I'll best it yet.
I also still find it odd that when I write pony stories it's one of the only times I can read it back and think "That's awesome. I'm awesome." I do think I can be a good writer and I do enjoy writing, I just seem to feel that way the most when my writing contains pretty pastel ponies.
Now we can start wondering why I always put off writing fanfics if they make me so happy and I recognise what good they do for my writing.
