So, if you find yourself in possession of some nice trout, take care to follow this advice: Do not bake it, do not broil it. You can put it on the grill if you must. The best thing to do with it, however:
- Split your fish in two halves (or into smaller pieces - skin on! - if you have something that won't fit in a pan in one piece, like a steelhead).
- Get a cast iron pan.
- Heat the pan nice and hot.
- Swirl a teaspoon of butter in the pan.
- Season the skin side of one of your pieces of fish with paprika and a generous shot of salt.
- Fry the skin side for about five minutes. Season the other side of the fish while the skin side is frying.
- Flip the fish.
- Fry for another five to seven minutes, until the fish is cooked through. If it's quite a thick piece and still raw in the middle after about seven minutes, flip back to the skin side for three more minutes or so.
You will have the finest piece of crispy-skin trout you have ever eaten. It's very very very rich, so eat it with roast or steamed vegetables and for a drink just go with water or some tea.

If this site has taught me anything, the fact that I eat meat and the ponies don't is a problem just long enough to establish that, yes, I'm a human and I'm in Equestria. After that, it leads only to Comic Misunderstandings that themselves develop into Sexual Tension. For some damn reason.

AUGH. Why would tease that the next chapters are coming out soon. I was blissfully not thinking about it for the past few weeks.
Now I won't stop thinking about it, I mean it's tied for first in my favorite fics. I guess I'll just reread it.
Personally I prefer smoking trout, mackerel and salmon
Good suggestions though might try it out when I go trout fishing this weekend.
