You ever get that feeling when you absolutely love to do something so much, it's pretty much the one thing that you can do for hours without getting tired and loving every second of it? But you're also modestly good at something else that you force yourself to do cause it makes people happy and they all think it's one of the best things they've ever seen and is waaay cooler than that silly other thing you do?
That's me right now.
Well at least one person can stand to wait for your stories until you're good and ready to write them.
C'mon mate, we wouldn't be real followers, or friends, if we just up and quit on ya during your rough spots! Take your time and relax, you have a real life to live and that take precedence over appealing to a bunch of silly online apparitions. You shouldn't feel like you HAVE to write for us, if we really care about your side of the writing paradigm we can wait for you to be ready. Besides, if your not at a hundred and twenty percent, how can you say you gave your best effort in something? Real life or writing or whatever! We can wait, and we'll be here when your ready to share with us again.
I don't feel that way. Gears of War is forever, but Ponies always come first.
928085 Thanks, and it's not so much that, even when I write a story that I love to write, nobody seems to care. I had soo much fun writing this story that I released today, and it hardly saw the light of day. I enjoy writing HitS2, but it makes me sad when other things I do don't get any recognition.

It's hard to appeal to everyone when you write, I'm sure you understand that. You gotta know that the people who follow you, or even just browse your stories, are reading because the description or tags listed appeal to them. I started following you cause of HitS, sure that is so far the only fiction of yours that I've read. But, that in no way means it'll be the only one, your entire selection is on my to read list! I'm diverse with stories and love to read all of them, hell I even had the morbid curiosity to look over the famous shock fic's like Cupcakes and Scarlet Harvest. I currently have over hundred completed stories on my to-read list, and another two hundred incomplete stories that I would prefer to to read once they've finished.
I have my personal preferences when is comes to stories, and so will everyone else. Ship-fic's are popular cause they're messy little dream ideas, everyone has their own OTP to look for when browsing. Not all of the stories will get their deserved dues and some that should have sunk without a notice, like Cupcakes, are as popular as hell. Popularity is just a statistic in the end and in no way shows that a story is worth it's salt (pony puns!). Looking over your stories, you've hundreds of views on all of them. I'd say you're perfectly fine for popularity and the likes-dislikes ratio system is crap, imo. You'll always have those trolls that look to get the first dislike in so that makes that system pointless.
TL;DR : You stories are popular to me and my friends, so why are you concerned about being liked by the faceless masses?
Sorry that RaW didn't take off like you hoped it would, I liked it though! And your music's cool too, it's more difficult to 'keep an eye on' (given youtube isn't nearly as good as FIMFic at reminding me of new stuff) but I still enjoy it.
Ultimately just keep doing what YOU like, it's nice to get recognition, but if it comes down to pleasing others or yourself, make yourself your first priority, okay?
Dude I understand the stress your under. I get that all the time from managing my personal youtube and TheUndercoverBrony.

What matters is that you are proud of what you write. Recognition from others is always nice, but the important thing is to take pride in your work! It hurts when your effort doesn't get recognized for how good it is, but as long as you know that you did it well, nothing else matters.
