Well, Chapter 4 of E4E is up. As of now, I finally have my pre-readers on board, and they'll be helping me to keep my plot out of hot water. I'd like to give a big thank-you to Prosper and lolajew for their criticisms.
Chapter 4 marks the end of the first "Act" of E4E, wherein I introduce the characters and the conflict. I expect to have four more acts of similar length before the story is done. Following that, I may or may not write a sequel/prequel to tie up a few of the loose ends that will inevitably crop up.
