Almost done, yay! (or maybe not)

    Hi guys and gals.
The good news is that I finally finished the final chapter of After Destiny.
The bad news is that I absolutely hate its last scene. It gives no closure and pacing is weird.

    Subtle differences

Human fiction: "Curses, I didn't expect a thunderstorm right now."
Pony fiction: "Curses, I forgot there was a thunderstorm scheduled right now."

    Human fiction: "It's a 6 hour drive, or a 1 hour flight."
Pony fiction: "It's a 6 hour flight, or we can take Twilight-Train."

Human fiction: "The mailman lost my mail."
Pony fiction: "The dragon burnt my mail."

    [no title]

Ending WRR turned out to be a great decision. I'm now leaving my comments in the stories themselves, where I can actually interact with the authors and they become much more useful. It also helps me think about how I'm writing as well, and how I can invite comments to my own stories (well, the two of them), something I sorely miss. I'm inclined to believe my WRR is gone for good.

    I have over-estimated myself

Progress has been excruciatingly slow but fiercely steady. I'm getting like a dozen or two words in every day. I'm finding the time to write, even if it's not very much, and when I do, it's hard to concentrate and get momentum. I could call it writer's block, it probably qualifies many people's definition. I could actually cop out, polish my first three scenes and call it chapter 2 of 3. But I

Weekly Reading Report IX, updates on last week's news · 3:37am Mar 12th, 2013

Hi everypony!

This has been a busy busy week and I haven't had much time for reading. I read 196.915 words this week. I have also edited ±3700 words and, best of all, I have also written ±1800 words! Finally, more than counting words, a full medical check-up is what took up most of my time. But enough of that for now, let's see the highlights of the week!

Asylum by Daemon of Decay, with all of its almost 67kw, is the biggest.
I once had a relative-in-law with that problem. It's very hard to deal with. I wanted to help him but I had no idea how, and I was afraid to try because I could make things worse. To this day, I still remember one day where he invited me to go to a local cheeseburger bar to talk, and he'd change the subject abruptly every 20 seconds and jump between the most extreme emotions throughout. Mental illness is a very very delicate situation to deal with, and I'm glad, scared, and impressed to see it explored in such depth.

Mother of Invention by zaponator with its most recent 3kw.
Seeing Applejack going survivalist has been interesting the first few chapters, but it quickly got boring. But I pressed on, as I'm wont to do. Then, the cliffhanger on this most recent chapter ("Brian Wilson"), oh, my, that's a game changer. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!??? (More confused Applejack, most likely, but I'm still curious.)

The Magician and the Fiddler by The Fool with almost 14kw.
This is your standard go-on-adventure-make-out-the-end shipping story. But it's got pretty interesting bits of world-building with Tartarus. I really enjoyed that.

The BBo1494 prequel has a tentative title of Disentanglement, and is to be starred by Spike, Rarity, Pinkie, and Twilight. I'm laying out the chapters for it. I haven't written anything proper yet.

I also had a dream this week, that put me into writing in the middle of the night, and this is going to be an one-shot. I need to put a couple more scenes after my dream ended to get where I want it to be. The tentative title is Iceberg Climb, but I'm really hoping to find a more meaningful title, or at least a decent pun. It's starred by an OC called Zenith Climber and supported by Pinkie Pie and maybe a pegasus who never gave his name to the other characters.

The full medical check-up is the "biopsychosocial" test I mentioned last week. I have been tested for eyesight, psychiatric diagnosis, ultrasonography, lung capacity (seriously), electroencephalogram, blood test, urine test, x-ray of teeth and spinal cord, hearing, psychologic profile, and how long I can run for. There's two more to go. I'm baffled. I wonder if they realize I'm going to work sitting on a computer all day…
