I got some scathing review by some random dude on my story Misrule. I'm aware that this isn't the best and shining example of my writing (I have every intention of editing it later) but he actually insulted my user name.
I don't know if he was trollin' or just hating because my story involves anthropomorphic ponies but either way, I hope he get's hit by a bus. c:

People are cruel, sir. Especially online where anonymity hides them. A study has revealed that people whow ant to be creative but lack the necessary skills will bash other people's works simply because they are jealous of it. I'm not saying this is 100% the case, but it could be. Also, people tend to lack the ability to constructively criticize and favor the much more impolite "You suck" style of crtitiquing. Unfortunately, it is something we have to deal with but that does not make those people any less of an asshole.

It's not the fact that he (assumption) did it, it was the fact that he had it behind the credibility of a legitimate review. So the malice, jealousy, dislike of his comment was more scathing. He even criticized about the pacing, spacing and flow; saying it was confusing and all over the place.
In review, he had to have had some big balls in order to do what he did seeing that his gallery (or whatever it's called on here) has absolutely no stories in it whatsoever. That actually lessened the blow to more of a annoying poke in the ribs. It doesn't make me hate him less, it just made his scathing words sting less. Also I'm ignoring what he said seeing that the fact of the matter was I knew the story needed some revision and editing. I suppose what hurt the most was he couldn't understand if the ponies were anthropomorphized or human. I take it that you can tell the difference?
The same goes for almost all of my stories; I know they need a thrice over being posting. At the time of posting both Misrule and Rotting Apples, I failed to pick up on the subtle mistakes such as 'its' and it's'. I'll still write but I won't let fuck knobs like this deter me from doing what I love.
