So yeah. The story is very much incomplete and it'll be months before we see the canon version of the ending.

Which means there's time for us to decide what the hell is going on, and what happens next.

I've never been able to crack my knuckles properly, so have a Big Mac.

My thoughts exactly. So many awesome concepts to fuck with:

Vocal magic based on incantations, that are apparently supposed to have working, poetic rhyme schemes. Link to Zecora's magic? Strong psychological links to cutie marks, almost a form of obsessive compulsive disorder, or addiction. They're drawn to their cutie marks like a moth to a lightbulb. Alicorns having access to different planes and temporal surveillance devices? Hell yes!

Now to dig out some Phillip K Dick and work on a crossover...

Hopefully, since we're on a hiatus. On the other hand, this season has been full of hooks for writers to elaborate on, like babs, that writers have by and large ignored.
