Well, this is my first fanfic in (quite literally) a dozen years. Since the old days, I've moved into webcomics, novels and the like. Strangely enough, it took (as a fan animation once said) "technicolor donkeys" to get me back into this.

Since FIM is largely a low fantasy world, I thought I'd have fun with it. Yes, you can consider this to be an alternate universe, or well after the end of the series.

Oh, and since I'm sure everyone's going to ask: yes, the girls' entitlements are named after pony or horse breeds

Twilight Sparkle, Knight Elemental and Duchess Shetland - Shetland pony
Pinkamena D. Pie, Knight Elemental and Duchess Vanner - Gypsy Vanner horse (why yes, I do watch Friendship is Witchcraft)
Applejack, Knight Elemental and Duchess Mustang - Mustang horse
Rainbow Dash, Knight Elemental and Duchess Jennet - either the historical Jennet or the modern Jennet.
Rarity, Knight Elemental and Duchess Lippizan - Lippizan horse
Fluttershy, Knight Elemental and Duchess Andalucia - Andalusian horse
