(i cant believe i really didnt post anything for the last episode. tsk tsk.)
id say this was a pretty solid episode.
it wasnt much of a character episode. but it had great writing, really had you wanting to know what happened next, when theyd realise the situation.
the character was rather nice, except i must unfortunately say that for the first time this season, pinkie really didnt bring her A game to this one.
and twi i though was great, along with cadence and shining. shinings parts were a real treat, for both he and cadence we finally see them in a more casual setting.
we finally here shining called prince, which was nice. and see some of what he does. i just really liked his acting this episode. also dat face(you know the one)
cadence and twi had some lovely interaction, i liked how their sunshine ladybug thingy happened without being the focus.
and twi finally starts learning how to calm down. took long enough. i really like her little calming technique she got from cadence. i found it especially cute and funny when she finds out they have the wrong mare, and she thinks to just repeat the movement over and over again. also, porcutwi.
for some other small treats, we finally see rainbow dad, plus some more filly dash. i liked dashes want to help so much all throughout. and their welcome cheer was a real treat, since there wasnt a song. it had some nice choreography, like rainbows speedy heart. though when they were practising at the beginning and the train stops, which was a funny scene, i noticed fluttershy took twilights cutie mark when she crashes into the wall (hold up flutters, thats not till next episode.) rainbow and fluttershy showcase a cute little hoofshake, which we saw in an early commercial and finally see it in action.
i quite enjoyed that they showed where this and the last episode crossed over, thats something i was hoping would happen and it was really the icing on the cake for me i think.
so overall, its small flaws i think are outshined by some pretty solid writing and an enjoyable plot.
on a semirelated note. i also watched and liked the newest episode of littlest pet shop. it seems the new pet will be a permanent addition to the team, which means that once again a va from fim is working on the show. and kathy weseluck no less, a personal favourite. its funny to mention, that in three seasons on mlpfim shes yet to have a solid song as spike, and yet on lps, she gets a song on her first episode.
