A new story is incoming, and I'm using "new" as a relative term here. It's a good ol' New Lunar Republic vs. Solar Empire story. Amusingly enough, this is based off of a D&D campaign that was cancelled after 2 sessions due to problems with transportation and attendance. So rather than make it disappear entirely, I'm making it into a story! Below is a small spoiler, enjoy!

It has been 7 years since the return of Princess Luna. Nightmare Moon no longer, she returned to take her place as co-ruler of Equestria along side her sister, Celestia.

5 years ago on this very day, Celestia exiled Luna from Canterlot and sealed her alicorn powers, creating the Solar Empire. That day marked the beginning of the most trying days in pony history. Princess Celestia created a caste system based on wealth and birthright. Luna saw that those who did not solely follow the Solar Empire were treated as second class citizens. Many harvested foods were taken from them, leaving little for the harsh winters. Many outlying towns suddenly became divided, with one part being the wealthy empire and the other the impoverished non-empire. One day, Celestia had declared that anypony not part of the Solar Empire would be banished from Equestria all-together.

It was at that time that Luna realized what she had to do. Using her influence, she was able to start up an opposing nation called the New Lunar Republic. Many battles would take place between the two factions, but both sides have now gathered for one great and final conflict. The Lunar Republic is camped just outside of Canterlot. With 10,000 battle ready ponies prepared to end the tyranny of Princess Celestia, this is where our story begins.
