Hey guys, EStatic here again. Just to let you know, I've miraculously managed to find where my USB stick was hiding, so now I'm back to writing A Day in the Life. It shouldn't be too long before I make the next chapter go public.
Also, Is anyone on here familiar with New Jack Swing? For those who aren't, here's a couple of examples:

As you can tell, it's very late 80's/early 90's, and I've been trying to replicate the sound with FL Studio. However, it's a damn lot harder than I'd thought it be.
For example, at lot of the sounds you hear in the above videos are fairly hard to replicate (even with instruments that are nearly identical to the ones the producers used on these songs), and the drum rhythms... well, it's been hit-and-miss for me so far.
But overall, I just wanna tear my hair out. Can anyone give me some pointers on this style of music (or just on how to properly compose music in general) before I shoot myself in the foot over this?
