ColdHeart's thought on the new episode · 7:13pm Jan 19th, 2013
What's up everyhuman, ColdHeart here late again with his opinion on the latest episode. This is the commentary for 'Keep Calm and Flutter On'.
Now where do I begin? Oh, yeah how about 'This is my new favorite episode!!' I shit you not, just about everything was perfect in this one, and John De Lancie's was just icing on the cake! I love Discord, and seeing him again was not only a pleasant surprise, but a stroke of genius by the creators of the show. I'm 120% positive that they brought him back because of how awesome everyhuman thought he was the first time he was on the show, and they did it perfectly. From John De Lancie's performance to the gags he did made possible by the animators, such as "rolling his eyes" to his little back-and-forths between him and Angel Bunny, he was truly the greatest epitome of what cartoon characters should be. He even broke the fourth wall!! This calls for a Discord story, I can feel it in my gut!
Then we have Fluttershy. When I first started watching the show, I couldn't help but being extremely annoyed by the buttery pegasus, with her faint whispery voice and pushover attitude, but the more we get to know her as a character I've learned to love her. But this episode settles it: Fluttershy is amazing! I love it when the ponies remain true to their elements, and FlutterShutter (P.P.: Fluttershy!) right, Fluttershy maintained a kindling of all kinds of kindness throughout the episode, but she didn't let that get in the way of putting Discord in his place when it came right down to it, and that's the Fluttershy I love seeing: a 3-dimensional character with flaws and strengths still ingeniously woven into a little kid's cartoon character.
Next we have her friends. I love it when the others treat Fluttershy like a little delicate thing who can't handle a big ferocious Dragoniquis tumbling her defenseless cottage around in midair, and get totally shown up when it turns out that the meek little thing has more courage than Rainbow Dash. I also love how the other five consistently want to turn Discord back to stone and consistently get shocked when Fluttershy makes the right choice. Throughout the episode, Fluttershy shows more moral value and right decisions than even Applejack, which both surprised and delighted me, so kudos to Celestia on knowing which pony to choose. There was one problem, however, and I think everyhuman knows what I'm about to say:
NEEDS. MOAR. PINKIE PIIIIE!
On that note, I think what I'm trying to say is 'good job, and this is my new favorite episode.' Thanks for reading, this has been a ColdHeart Commentary.
ColdHeart out~
I feel as though I'm the only one who was disappointed with this episode.
727823 it had many flaws, I just saw and reflected more of the bright side. why does this dissapoint, Mr. Dash?
727852 I dislike how the God of Chaos and Disharmony redeemed himself, that really the most that really made me annoyed is when a villain goes to hero or in this case, an antihero. The rest of the episode was pure gold really.
728291 you can't ignore the fact that the show is still for little girls. there's going to be some cheesiness here and there.
728320 True, that is very true.
