One Era Ends, Another Begins · 4:24am Jan 19th, 2013
At exactly 10:00pm Eastern Standard Time this evening, one of my all-time favorite science fiction shows on FOX officially completed its run.
With five seasons and one hundred episodes, J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci's "Fringe" sung its swan song with a series finale to top all series finales. It was a masterpiece.
Incorporating some of my favorite sci-fi elements like time travel and parallel universes (with a touch of supernatural and horror thrown in), this show officially beat out Heroes in my top 10 sci-fi faves.
A toast to Fringe. It shall be missed.
But now is not a time for grieving, for a new slice of sweet pony pie (that sounded a lot less dirty in my head) is on the horizon! After an agonizing three-week hiatus, the next episode of Friendship is Magic premieres tomorrow morning.
Marking the return of that magnificent bastard Discord, "Keep Calm and Flutter On" promises to be an episode to remember, maybe even the best episode of the season thus far. Presumptuous? Maybe; I've yet to see anything from season 3 top "Sleepless in Ponyville", but who knows?
Take it easy, Leeroy Wingkins.
Let's do this indeed.
