I honestly am fed up with the featured stories. Why? Because most of them are either Human's in Equestria fics (originality), One Shots, Clopfics and the worst of all... Twidash.
Now I'm not against shipping, if you've been on my profile you'd know that, but my goodness does Twidash begin to annoy me. Honestly though, I just ignore the Featured Box all together because I rarely find anything worth reading in it. One of those small things that just sets me on edge.

I know. I've read some insanely good fics in my time, none of which were in the featured box. They were either on EqD, heard about from a friend, or found in the new stories. Like, I'll take "Of Skies Long Forgotten" for example. Beautiful story, and has a bit of a following. Never featured on Fimfiction though.
Though I've heard lots of good things about Eljunbyro, though.
Well, look at it this way. Once I'm done with my next story (and one-shot somewhere in the middle), I'm going to be doing a sequel to the first fic I did that got a lot of attention, though not enough for a feature, which whatevs. It actually will involve something hetero, and unfortunately for the poor girl, one-sided.
No idea in the least when it'll begin, nor HOW exactly I'm going to dive back into it all.
