And the Christmas Spirit has got me all excited and sentimental, so I wrote up a thing. I just thought I'd post it here, like I do with all the other 'poems' I concoct.
It’s raining again, on Christmas Eve,
To glance out the window, you can scarcely believe,
That this is the time before Christmas Day.
With the sky a melancholic grey,
There is no chance of snow, t’would seem,
No chance to see the streets all gleam.
And yet, it matters not to me,
As I stare into this misery,
Those dewdrops, they enhance the sky,
In this beholders watching eye.
The colours shining through the sleet,
Can have the pretty snowflakes beat.
At least as long as family,
Are here all watching next to me,
On Christmas Day.
And even whilst the heavens are pouring,
We sit smiling, our spirits soaring,
For no mere water can dampen our cheer,
With all of us together here,
On Christmas Day.
And we sit together,
And smile together,
And laugh together,
And sing together,
And get caught up in the excitement
Of this ‘season to be jolly’ together,
On Christmas Day.
And that is worth just a bit of rain, I think.
Don't try to pretend that your poems are bad. It might not be the most... used part of people's creative systems (especially in this fandom), but that shouldn't stop you doing what you want. Go on, do some more! One thing's for sure - your rhyming skills are a lot better than mine.
Also, I'm posting something tomorrow. It's nothing special... but I feel like I should improve those front-facing faces...
If that didn't tell you what I'm doing, then I don't know what will.
