Salutations, children. I know this may appear as a last-minute surprise to you, but I’m afraid your beloved host Joker isn’t here to review this particular episode of a popular children’s program. I am Temple Fugate, also known as the Clock King, here to give my own analysis on MLP: FIM season 7 episode 3 “A Flurry of Emotions”, released on April 22, 2017.

I have about ten minutes to give my personal analysis on this episode before the Clown Prince of Crime barges in, so I’ll be as brief and straightforward as possible. Without any further time-wasting, let’s get started:

This purple alicorn, Twilight Sparkle, has to babysit her niece named Flurry Heart because her exhausted parents have to attend an art show of a friend of theirs despite the fact that Sparkle has another time-oriented plan already scheduled. We’re about one minute and twenty-eight seconds into this episode, and there’s already problems.

She gets too excited to play with her niece she instantly forgets her important “princess” duty to attend the other children at the hospital. By the time she’s finished fooling around with her niece, she has already wasted the first 20 minutes of their schedule. When I watched this myself, I was furious! She should know there’s a time and place for everything!

Throughout the whole day, she kept wasting time in playing with that little brat while trying to get things done on her To Do list. And guess what? Within mere seconds, Flurry causes havoc and makes a mess of things! Within that precise millisecond, I knew for a fact she barely got any discipline at home. Her parents should be ashamed of themselves.

It’s only when she nearly got other children in danger was when Twilight finally wised up and scolded her for her behavior. It was only a matter of time before she did the right thing. But of course, she had to be a softie and put the blame on herself just to make the kid feel better. While it’s true that guardians must always be responsible adults, the child must also learn to respect other children and adults alike.

It’s no surprise many fans on the internet dislike this Flurry character. Honestly, I cannot blame them.

In short, we learn to give people a notice way ahead of time so they can make plans accordingly and to spend quality time with our children. That’s nice and all, but I consider it to be absurd that they fail to address Flurry’s reckless behavior at the end. That’s why I’ll never have kids…because I don’t understand them. I’ve never been one myself.

Aaaaaand…that’s now 15 minutes and 44 seconds of my life I’ll never get back. Sammie Crowley and Whitney Wetta, shame on you for writing this story. Clearly, this show isn’t for me. This episode alone gets a D-, and this show is nothing but a waste of time! I outta—!

*Clock King gets kicked out by yours truly*

Sorry you had to see that, guys. I wanted to make this review a little early, but Clock King beat me to it. So…I hope you found this short review enjoyable to read. I kinda agree with him on most of his points honestly. Twilight was in-character obviously, but Flurry Heart really needs to be put in check every now and then. My actual grade for this episode is a B-.

It’s really fun and entertaining, but Flurry managed to make it...well, not fully enjoyable to sit through. That’s all. Plus, it was cool they made a “dragon warrior” reference and had Twilight read the Grogar/Gusty the Great story to the kids.

Peace!

I realize that it’s a little late for me to say this, but…

“A Flurry of Emotions” was another episode I deeply enjoyed. Twilight’s situations with Flurry in particular were ones I couldn’t help but relate with, mainly because it reminded me of experiences with my own nieces and nephew.

Honestly Flurry Heart is really cute.
But man, those flaws you/Clock pointed out on her shows how the writers messed up on her.
